40. FRONT AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEVELS
  1. Remove the filler plug.
  1. Check the oil level. If the oil level is at or slightly below the filler hole, it is in satisfactory condition.
       
      • Type 1 only: Remove the filler plug, and check the gear oil level. Check that gear oil level is not 8 mm below the bottom of filler plug hole.
    1. If the level is low, replenish the front and/or rear differential with fresh oil by using a lubricator.
      2. NOTE: 
      For the specified oil, refer to GROUP 2, Periodic Inspection and Maintenance.
