- Before inspection, set the vehicle to the pre-inspection condition.
- Turn the ignition switch to "LOCK" (OFF) position.
- Connect the MUT-II/III to the diagnosis connector or connect a tachometer to the engine speed detection connector.
- Connect a timing light.

- Start the engine and let it run at idle.
- Check that ignition timing is at the standard value.
Standard value: approximately 5°
BTDC
- Check the idle speed.
- The idle speed is controlled automatically by the idle speed control system.
- When using the MUT-II/III, select item No. 22 and take a reading of the idle speed.
Standard value: 750 ±
100 r/min
