REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Pre-removal Operation
  • Fuel Discharge Prevention (Refer to ).
  • Intercooler Assembly and Intercooler Outlet Air Hose Removal <4G63-DOHC> (Refer to GROUP 15, Intercooler ).
  • Accelerator Cable Removal (Refer to GROUP 17, Accelerator Cable and Pedal ).
Post-installation Operation
  • Accelerator Cable Installation (Refer to GROUP 17, Accelerator Cable and Pedal ).
  • Accelerator Cable Adjustment (Refer to GROUP 17,On-vehicle Service - Accelerator Cable Adjustment ).
  • Intercooler Assembly and Intercooler Outlet Air Hose Installation <4G63-DOHC> (Refer to GROUP 15, Intercooler ).
  • Fuel Leakage Inspection.

REMOVAL SERVICE POINT
<<A>> FUEL DELIVERY PIPE AND FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY REMOVAL
 CAUTION
 Do not drop the injector.
Remove the fuel delivery pipe with the fuel injector assembly attached to it.
INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT
>>A<< FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY/DELIVERY PIPE PRESSURE REGULATOR/FUEL HIGH-PRESSURE HOSE INSTALLATION
 CAUTION
 Do not let the engine oil get into the delivery pipe will be damaged.
  1. Apply a drop of new engine oil to the O-ring.
  1. Turn the fuel injector assembly. To the right and left to install to the fuel delivery pipe. Repeat for delivery pipe pressure regulator and fuel high-pressure hose. Be careful not to damage the O-ring. After installing, check that the item turns smoothly.
  1. If it dose not turn smoothly, the O-ring may be trapped, remove the item, re-install it into the fuel delivery pipe and check again.
  1. Tighten the delivery pipe pressure regulator and fuel high-pressure hose to the specified torque.
    2. Tightening torque:
    • 8.9 ± 1.9 N·m <Delivery pipe pressure regulator>
    • 5.0 ± 1.0 N·m <Fuel high-pressure hose>
