ADJUSTMENT FUNCTION
The security alarm can be enabled/disabled and the plenary alarm time can be changed in accordance with the adjustment mode entry conditions by operating the switches. The programmed information is held even when the battery is disconnected.
  1. Entry conditions for adjustment mode
    1. Set switches to the following conditions:
      • Driver's door switch ON (driver's door open)
      • Key reminder switch: ON (remove the ignition key)
      • Lighting switch: OFF
    1. When the windshield wiper lever is pulled towards you (windshield washer: ON) and held at that position for at least 10 seconds, the ETACS-ECU-integrated buzzer will sound once and then enter the adjustment mode. The setting can be changed by pushing the transmitter unlock switch while the wiper lever is being pulled.
  1. Adjusting the security alarm function
    • The security alarm function will be enabled/disabled and plenary alarm time will be changed in the sequence below. (Next to "c", the function returns to "a" and repeats the sequence from "a").
      1. Security alarm function is disabled. (initial status): Buzzer sounds once.
      1. Security alarm function is enabled. When the hazard warning lamps and horns are used as plenary alarm, the buzzer will sound three times.
      1. Security alarm function is enabled. When the hazard warning lamps are used as plenary alarm, the buzzer will sound five times.
  1. Release conditions for the adjustment mode
    • The adjustment mode will be cancelled under one of the following conditions:
      • Driver's door switch OFF (driver's door closed)
      • Key reminder switch: OFF (insert the ignition key)
      • Lighting switch: ON
      • Windshield washer switch: OFF
      • When the unlock switch is kept released for 30 seconds
NOTE: 
  1. In order to enter the adjustment mode, the wiper/washer switch and the transmitter must be operated. However, the wipers/washers or the keyless entry system will not work at this time.
  1. This adjustment function is also described in the Owners Handbook so that customers can use it.
  1. Prior to using this function, confirm thoroughly what your customer wants. Ideally, the customer should be familiar with this function and then use this function by himself/herself.
