CAUTION
If the low-beam headlamps do not illuminate, carry out troubleshooting by reading through the precautions in GROUP 54A - Headlamps .
 CAUTION
Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If any of the headlamps do not illuminate, the wiring harness connector(s), the bulb or the fuse may be defective or burned out.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the headlamp bulbs
  • Malfunction of the high-beam indicator bulb
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
Step 7. Retest the system.
Check that the headlamps and the high-beam indicator lamp illuminate/extinguish normally.
Q: Is the check result normal?
The lamps illuminate normally at both high and low beams.:  The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction
).
If the low-beam headlamps do not illuminate:  Refer to GROUP 54A - Headlamp.
If the high-beam headlamps do not illuminate:  Replace the headlamp socket.
When the high-beam indicator lamp does not illuminate:  Replace the combination meter.
