INSPECTION PROCEDURE
P-9: When the sunroof switch is operated, the switch signals are not received.

|  CAUTION
Whenever the ECU is replaced,
ensure that the input signal circuit is normal.
|

| COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the input signal from the sunroof switch is abnormal, the sunroof input check response
signal will not be sent to the SWS communication line.
|
| POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of the sunroof assembly
- Malfunction of the sunroof switch
- Damaged harness wires and connectors

| Step 1. ECU check on the SWS monitor
Check that the power supply and earth lines to the sunroof-ECU and the SWS communication
lines are normal.
ECUS TO BE CHECKED
OK: "OK" is displayed on the "sunroof-ECU" menu.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES:
Go to Step 2  .
NO:
Refer to Inspection Procedure A-6 "Communication with the sunroof-ECU is not possible"  .

| Step 2. Connector check: D-06 sunroof switch connector
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES:
Go to Step 3  .
NO:
Repair the defective connector.

| Step 3. Check the sunroof switch.
Refer to GROUP 42 -
Sunroof  .
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES:
Go to Step 4  .
NO:
Replace the sunroof switch.
|
| Step 4. Measure the resistance at the D-06 sunroof switch connector.
- Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
- Continuity between D-06 sunroof switch connector terminal No.4 and body earth
OK: 2Ω
or less
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES:
Go to Step 6  .
NO:
Go to Step 5  .

| Step 5. Check the wiring harness between D-06 sunroof motor switch
connector terminal No.4 and body earth.
NOTE: Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-218, and repair
if necessary.
- Check the earth wires for open circuit.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES:
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 -
How
to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction  ).
NO:
Repair the wiring harness.

| Step 6. Connector check: D-09 sunroof motor assembly connector
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES:
Go to Step 7  .
NO:
Repair the defective connector.
|
| Step 7. Check the wiring harness from D-09 sunroof motor assembly
connector (terminals 6, 7 and 8) to D-06 sunroof switch connector (terminals 6, 3 and 5).
- Check the input line for open circuit.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES:
Go to Step 8  .
NO:
Repair the wiring harness.

| Step 8. Confirm communication data by using the SWS monitor.
