PROCEDURE O-3: The hazard warning lamps do not flash while the security alarm is triggered. |

|  CAUTION
Whenever the ECU is replaced,
ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.
|

| COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the hazard warning lights do not flash normally, the ETACS-ECU may be defective.
Alternatively, it is possible that "SECURITY ALM" was set to "W/O FUNCTION" by
using the adjustment function.

| POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
- Damaged harness wires and connectors

| Step 1. Check the adjustment function.
Check that "SECURITY ALM" is set to "HORN/HAZARD" or "HAZARD" by using the adjustment
function.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES:
Go to Step 2  .
NO:
Set "SECURITY ALM" to "HORN/HAZARD" or "HAZARD" by using the adjustment
function.(Refer to  .)

| Step 2. Check the operation of the hazard warning lamp.
Check that the hazard warning lamps illuminate normally.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES:
Go to Step 3  .
NO:
Refer to inspection procedure L-2 "The hazard warning lamps do not illuminate  ".

| Step 3. ECU check on the SWS monitor
Check that the power supply and earth lines to the ETACS-ECU and the SWS communication
lines are normal.
ECUS TO BE CHECKED
OK: "OK" is displayed on the "ETACS ECU" menu.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES:
Go to Step 4  .
NO:
Refer to Inspection Procedure A-3 "Communication with the ETACS-ECU is not possible  ."

| Step 4. Retest the system.
Check that the security alarm works normally.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES:
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 -
How
to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction  ).
NO:
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
