  1. Undo staking of the lock nut.
       
    1. Use the special tool Special spanner (MD998834) to remove the lock nut.
       
    Use the special tool Bearing remover (MD998917) to remove the output gear and parking gear.
       
    1. Support the transfer driven gear as shown in the illustration.
    1. Push the shaft of the direct planetary carrier to remove the taper roller bearing and gear.
       
    Use the special tool Bearing remover (MD998917) to remove the taper roller bearing.
       
    Use the special tools to install the taper roller bearing.
    • Installer cap (MD998812)
    • Installer 100 (MD998813)
    • Installer adapter (MD998824)
       
    Use the special tools to install the taper roller bearing.
    • Installer cap (MD998812)
    • Installer 100 (MD998813)
    • Installer adapter (MD998824)
       
    Use the special tools to install the output gear and parking gear.
    • Installer cap (MD998812)
    • Installer adapter (50) (MD998824)
       
    1. Smear ATF on a new lock nut and tighten it to the specified torque of 167 ± 10 N·m, using the special tool Special spanner (MD998834). Loosen the nut one turn, then tighten it to the specified torque of 167 ± 10 N·m again.
         
      1. Use a punch to stake the lock nut at two places.
