OPERATION
- A power voltage of 5 V is applied to the accelerator pedal position sensor (terminal No. 8) from the engine-A/T-ECU (terminal No. 97).
- The power voltage is earthed to the engine-A/T-ECU (terminal No. 96) from the accelerator pedal position sensor (terminal No. 7).
- The sensor signal is inputted to the engine-A/T-ECU (terminal No. 107) from the accelerator pedal position sensor output terminal (terminal No. 6).
FUNCTION
- The accelerator pedal position sensor (sub) outputs voltage which corresponds to the accelerator pedal depression.
- The engine-A/T-ECU checks whether the voltage is within a specified range.
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Condition
- Ignition switch is in "ON" position
Judgment Criteria
- Accelerator pedal position sensor (sub) output voltage is 0.2 volt or less for 1 second. <Vehicles except for Australia, South africa>
- Accelerator pedal position sensor (sub) output voltage is 0.2 volt or less for 0.3 second. <Vehicles for Australia, South africa>
PROBABLE CAUSE
- Failed accelerator pedal position sensor
- Open/short circuit in accelerator pedal position sensor circuit or loose connector contact
- Failed engine-A/T-ECU

YES:
Go to Step 3

- Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side.
- Ignition switch: ON

- Voltage between terminal No. 7 and earth. <Vehicles for Australia, South africa and Hong kong>
OK: 4.9 -
