EXTERIOR LAMPS <2000>
  • Four headlamps with independent appearance are adopted to provide ample illumination. The four headlamps have lens with no-cut to provide the better appearance.
  • The newly adopted discharge headlamp for low beam provides a much better view than ordinary halogen lamps. <Option>
  • To emphasize a sporty atmosphere, titanium-looking headlamps with smoked coating are used for the aluminium-deposited section.
  • A headlamp leveling function is adopted. <Vehicles with discharge headlamp>
  • The front turning signal lamps have lens with no-cut, and aluminium is internally deposited for better appearance.
  • Round-shape fog lamps with no-cut lens are adopted.
  • The rear combination lamps create a clean-cut, stereoscopic and excellent-quality look. (red lens) <SOHC>
  • The rear combination lamps create a sporty, stereoscopic and excellent-quality look. (clear lens) <DOHC>
  • A high mount stop lamp has been installed to the rear spoiler.
DISCHARGE HEADLAMP <Option>
   
  1. By applying a high voltage between the (1) electrodes, the (2) activating gas (xenon) discharges as sparks.
  1. As the temperature in the tube rises, the (3) mercury vaporizes creating an arc electrical discharge.
  1. When the temperature rises further, the (4) metal iodides vaporize, and decompose into metallic atoms and iodide atoms.
  1. The decomposed metallic atoms discharge in a spectre to metal by the thermal energy.
 CAUTION
  • The discharge headlamp controller generates a high voltage of approx. 20,000 V. Take great care when carrying out a service about the discharge headlamp.
  • Always contact your Mitsubishi dealer for removal or exchange.
   
The beam direction of the headlamps changes according to the number of passengers and the amount of load. The headlamp levelling function is a system that allows the driver to change the direction of headlamp beam so that the drivers of oncoming cars are not dazzled by the headlamps. The headlamp levelling switch allows changing the direction in five steps: 0 to 4.
EXTERIOR LAMPS <2400>
  • The four-bulb headlamps have been used. These headlamps contain the front turn-signal lamps and the position lamps, and create a more aggressive and refined look.
  • The newly adopted discharge headlamp for low beam provides a much better view than ordinary halogen lamps. <Option for Hong Kong spec.>

INTERIOR LAMPS
  • A map lamp serving also as front room lamp which can be used at both the driver's seat and passenger seat is provided.
  • A rear room lamp to lamp the backseat and luggage room lamp to lamp the luggage room are provided.
