REMOVAL SERVICE POINT

TAILGATE WINDOW GLASS ASSEMBLY REMOVAL
- If the tailgate window glass is reused, make mating marks on the tailgate and tailgate window glass.
- In order to protect the tailgate (paint surface), apply cloth tape to all tailgate areas around the installed tailgate window glass.
- Using a sharp-point drill, make a hole in the tailgate window glass adhesive.
- Cut off the tailgate window glass adhesive according to the procedure below.
- Keep the piano wire from touching the edge of the tailgate window glass.
- Do not damage the moulding of tailgate window glass.
CAUTION)
- To remove the adhesive from the top of the tailgate window glass, feed a piano wire into the passenger compartment through the hole, and then cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire alternately from the inside and outside of the vehicle.

- To remove the adhesive from the left and right edge of the tailgate window glass, feed a piano wire into the passenger compartment through the hole, and then cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire alternately.
)
- To remove the adhesive from the bottom of the tailgate window glass, feed a piano wire into the passenger compartment, and then cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire alternately.
- Use special tool window glass holder MB990480 to remove the tailgate window glass assembly.
CAUTION)
- Do not remove more adhesive than necessary to prevent the poor adhesive.
- Do not damage the paint surface of tailgate with the knife. If the paint surface is damaged, apply repair paint or anti-rust agent to the damaged part.
- Use a sharp knife to cut away the remaining adhesive so that the thickness is within 2 mm around the entire circumference of the tailgate flange.
- Finish the tailgate flange surfaces so that they are smooth.
- If the tailgate window glass is reused, scrape away all traces of old adhesive, the glass stoppers, the fasteners and the pins.

GLASS STOPPER/FASTENER INSTALLATION
- Use isopropyl alcohol to degrease the inside and outside edges of the tailgate window glass and the surface of the tailgate flange.
CAUTION)
- Assemble the window dam, glass stopper and fastener to the tailgate window glass location shown.

- Assemble the fastener in alignment with the protrusion of the tailgate flange.
