SEAT BELTS WITH PRE-TENSIONER
Pre-removal Operation
  • Turn the ignition key to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
  • Disconnect the Negative Battery Terminal.

Post-installation inspection

NOTE: The figure shows the seat belt with pre-tensioner (RH).
   
  1. Use a flat-tipped screwdriver to pull out forward and unlock the locking button of the harness-side connector.
  1. Disconnect the pretensioner connector.
>>A<< PRE-INSTALLATION INSPECTION
  1. Even new seat belt with pre-tensioner require inspection before installation.
  1. Connect the negative battery cable.
     CAUTION
    Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position when connecting and disconnecting the MUT-II/III.
  1. Connect the MUT-II/III to the diagnosis connector (16- pin).
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  1. Read a diagnosis code to refer to that the SRS is operating properly except an open in the seat belt with pre-tensioner circuit.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to "LOCK" (OFF) position.
     DANGER
    Wait at least 60 seconds after the disconnection of the battery cable before any further job (Refer to ).
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and insulate with tape.
   
  1. Does the SRS warning lamp illuminate for about 7 seconds, and then remain extinguished for at least 5 seconds after turning OFF?
  1. If no, refer to troubleshooting (Refer to).
